Studenten Akademie Mode & Design Dusseldorf

A wonderful time of diversity – The Shape Show

It started slowly, soft and quiet. Then it became mysterious and full of action and by the end everybody was fascinated by the glitter and glamour. Arnhem's Shape Show presented us with impressions from very different and individual designers – all masters of their trade.

Mareunrol's show, “Private Detective“, started with a little film. Confusing at the beginning, it fitted perfectly to the following show where models, with gigantic wigs, assumed control. Influenced by the film noir genre the creations presented lots of trench coats for men and women, artistic cuts as well as a huge variation of silhouettes.

A final fury was bestowed upon us during the show of Manish Arora. The Delhi-based designer was inspired by wildlife, rainforests and Indian jungles. For this reason he created his own little zoo. It was not just the animal prints that attracted attention. Arora's creations fashioned animals out of the models. All made-up in lucent colours and some decorated with parrots made from sequins, they exhibited a very lively collection. As a highlight -- a top in the form of a gigantic crap, in all hues of red and orange, must be mentioned.

So take a look at the pictures to get an impression and enjoy a wonderful moment of diversity.
